Fujimoto cp-51 replenisher not pumping

hi all, I recently picked up a cp-51 from jeff on this forum.

issue #1) it seems like the replenisher pump on tank 1 isn't working but I'm hoping that it's something that's actually an easy fix?
he gave me an additional cp51 for parts, but unfortunately I noticed at the last minute that it was actually rated for 110 not 220 (the working machine is 220).

issue #2) the repenisher pump for tank 2 seems to be working fine. at least it is indeed sucing up a good amount of water form the tank I've attached it to. the issue is that
when I look in the working tank, no change happens. It never fills up or shows any any of change.


I took the secondary machine (for parts) mostly apart and it was such a clumsy process. I'm hesitant to take this machine apart if it is not necessary because I don't want to mess it up.

any assistance would be incredible. thank you!!

You can always manually replenish. Maybe just not worry about it too much and run it without the replenishment pumps. It'll also save you from problems with stale developer in the replenishment circuit, contamination issues etc. Automatic replenishment makes good sense in a high-usage setup where the machine runs pretty much all the time during the day. I suspect you'll be using it for sessions; a couple of hours at a time and a few days or weeks in-between. In such a setup, manual replenishment is perfectly adequate and is probably a better approach overall.

To test the pumps, the easiest way is to remove them from the machine (if possible at all) and just have them pump water from one bucket to another.

very true, I ended up doing this and the process is fine. I saw a post somewhere saying that is the developer is bad it'll show in the shadows as very blue. th bleach fix pump works, I kidna wanna swtch them around but tbh I don't want to mess anything up or stress myself out any more. so I'll be content. ty

Way to go! Now that you've got the machine working, you can always just take out the pump and work on it when you have time/inspiration.

very true! thanks for the encouragement!!
opening up the first machine he gav me for parts was a hassel, but I'll ahve to go back and look into breakit down so I can se how to get the pump out. really wish the design was more straightforward! but it's all good one day I'll go for it

btw do you know about ra4 papers? I'm looking for a list of the all of the known ones (even expired) so I can know what I should be looking for

I know a little, yes, but mostly about the papers made today. RA4 has a pretty long history and I wouldn't be able to compile or give a full list of discontinued products.
I also don't think such a list would be all that relevant, since RA4 paper goes off within just a few years after manufacture. This means that older papers manufactured by Kodak etc. aren't all that worthwhile buying in my opinion since they suffer from fogging. You may be able to find some leftover Kodak Endura that's not fogged yet, but only from the last period it was manufactered about 2 years ago.

For the present paper lineup, I'd refer to FujiFilm since they're the 'last man standing' in the Western World (Lucky is going strong in China, but it's rare to see their papers appear on European and American markets).

but if you are willing to lmk about the kodak papers it owuld be useful too jsut as an understanding of waht used to be available

No, I don't recall having said that. I've not used the album papers.

Not sure what you mean, sorry. I've used some Kodak paper when it was still around. That's several years ago now.
