Fujifilm Tiara Zoom?

Anyone? I have a Konica Genba Kantoku DD that has a very sharp zoom lens from 40mm to 60mm. But it's bulky and I rarely take it out. The Fujifilm Tiara zoom looks very compact and looks like it's made of metal. Prices are high but not outrageously so. Anyone here shoot one and can comment on the lens?

On a side note, I had the Fujifilm Silvi f/2.8 which was OK to me but I sold for $200. That's why I'm slightly hesitant to buy another Fujifilm zoom point and shoot camera.

Very cute elegant design. Even though the price seems crazy when you can get a Nikon F4 for less (!), in the lux P&S world at the moment it seems good! I had a Contax TVSIII which I was really disappointed with which cost a whole lot more.
Fuji always makes great lenses, so I'm sure this will have one too.

I had one, it was surprisingly good, sharp lens, very easy to use, a lot of functions included, the bad thing its the door flex conection, it gets broken in time so the back display doesn´t show the options, but still work with that.

I've had one for about 11 years that I use for pictures when my brother's kids are around. I should probably buy another since it is pretty beat up but then again I have a drawer full of point and shoots. They are nice cameras though. Almost at the level of a TVS. I am not quite a fan of it for black and white film but for color it is nice. The LCD on the back is a weak point. Mine is partly gone. Lots of cameras from that time period though are like that. Another you might want to look at around that range is the Leica Z2X. I think they sell for a couple hundred as well. I have one of those and it is a good camera too. Those I'd put in between the Fuji and the TVS. I don't know what TVS' sell for anymore, but that is the best zoom point and shoot. Titanium covers....

I was thinking Fuji glass has been so good for me so far I was hoping it would be the same for their P&S cameras. I have tried many point and shoot compacts and few have been great like the Konica Genba Kantoku I have. Sharp lens for a zoom. My daughter has my old Olympus Zoom 115 and still uses it. That had a sharp Olympus zoom lens. IMO, the other Olympus zooms not so much. Anyway, I might get one of the Tiaras before they get beyond a reasonable price.

Is the body metal or plastic but looks like metal?

This will get lost in this thread, but check out the Fujifilm Zoom Date 60W. Just developed the 1st roll from it. 28-60mm lens. Super sharp and high contrast. I only shot it at 28mm so I don't know how it is at 60mm.

I ended up buying a Cardia Mini Tiara thanks to the CFO for releasing funds for this purchase.

i had one - it only lasted a couple of rolls before it broke but it was a total pain in arse. I just remember having to turn flash off every time i switched it on as it seemed to love firing it. No zone focus so had to prefocus then hold the shutter half down until i found a shot and press it fully. Was laggy. Looked cool, nice lens, nice feature set - but you had to adapt to it - there was no give and take in using it. I had another two different P&s after that - both behaved same way - both a complete hassle to use in street then just gave up and bought a fully manual camera.
