Fujifilm Pro160 NS - 120 was discontinued in the UK in late 2017, selling out by early 18. One year on and this seems to have now reached Germany with both Maco and Nord Foto now advising its being discontinued with stock expiry dates of 02.2019

Maco - Discontinued line, EXP 02.2019

Nord foto - Auslaufartikel, letzter Bestand - bitte bevorraten Sie sich (Discontinued, final stock - stock up) Also with a min Exp 02.19 date.

No doubt official discontinuation will come when it runs out in Japan.

Thoughts on whether fujis final profession CN film - Pro400H or Portra 160 is a better substitute?

If you print in the darkroom then 400H is a better substitute as it prints on the same filter pack. All the Fuji pro line (C, S, H, Z) were designed to print on the same channel.
