Surprised they had it at all, in general stores last year I could only find instant film and disposable cameras.

That's a pretty normal price though by today's standards. It's been quite a while since we could get a fresh, A-brand roll of 36 exp CN film for less than €10 here.

The CVS and Walgreens in my area has not stocked film for a few years, and the same 3 pack is $$32.99 at Freestyle + shipping. The reason I no longer shoot color film, adding the processing it comes to around $40 a roll of 36 in my neck of the woods.

Found a workaround. CVS offers monthly promotions if you sign up for their "extra care" member card (free).

Usually, once a month, they offer a 30 to 40% off one item coupon as a loss leader to bring in more people. I remembered the film when I got my latest notification and bought the 3 roll pack (expiry date 05/2026) for $19.83 after tax.

I plan to take advantage of this every opportunity until someone in corporate catches on and places film off-fimits to the discount.

Looks like a bargain from where I am positioned in the UK. Boots sells the same film for £17 per 36 exposure roll. That's about $23 though of course does include 20% VAT

Just to update this: I have managed to purchase 15 x 36 exposure rolls of Fujicolor 400 for an average price of $6.66 per roll.

Bought 3 rolls today with a 35% off coupon I got last week and they printed out YET ANOTHER 35% off coupon on my receipt. I will have plenty of 35mm color negative stock for the Winter!

Haha! My grandma used to walk me to the CVS on our corner when I was 4 years old and use her coupons there. She let me pick a Hot Wheelz toy car whenever I came with.

Pretty good deal for color by today's standards.

That's great! Perfect price discrimination. Provide an avenue to hit every price point with a single product. And they're happy to have you. Shows that the system works, if you want to sell more you gotta grease the skids!

Statistically, that's probably true, but I only buy the loss-leaders, so I am probably an outlier in their model.

Call me anything you like, just don't call me late to dinner! 😁

These Fujifilm 400 are the same as Kodak Ultramax 400, and the price are getting closer too.

The good news is that at least they still carry film in physical stores. RiteAid has them at least until last year.
