Fujica GW690II + CineStill 800T at Night

Hey y'all... Just recently got back into film after about 10 years of not shooting any. Picked up one of my all-time favorite cameras — the Fuji GW690II and slapped some CineStill 800T in it. These were all metered at ISO400 and developed normally in CS41 at home and scanned in on an old HP G4050. Still re-learning all of this, but like the way some of these turned out.

Thanks! Still a lot to learn, but I feel good so far. Amazing what you forget when you don't do something for ten years.

I find it to be a joy to use, ergonomically. The shutter speed / aperture control leaves a lot to be desired, especially on the version 2 that I have. And in practice, I don't find it to be particularly large, especially for night photography where it's on a tripod anyway.

Don't forget the thunderclap that comes when you press the shutter button! At least that is how the GW690 works. It makes me feel like Zeus!

Those negatives, though... they are gloriously gigantic.

Big ? They are not much bigger than some 35mm SLR cameras.

The F2 w the motor drive is huge. So yes, the Fuji is big.

I haven't shot any of the particular film under discussion. The camera itself is my idea of an ideal mini-cam. It's considerably lighter and quieter than my Pentax 6x7, which in turn is way more portable than my big view cameras. It handholds even better than my Nikon. Great ergonomics. Quite affordable these days. Superb lens, though it's not interchangeable. Holds up in bad weather. I love the proportions of 6x9, just like the 24X36 ratio of 35mm images; but once in the darkroom, with over six times as much film area, there's a staggering difference in the prints themselves.

These look good! It's good to hear someone going back to film and having fun after a hiatus.
