Hello everyone,
I recently picked up a Fuijica 35 ml at an auction in a lot with some photo items. It seems to be in great cosmetic shape.
But the shutter is jammed, or that is what i think is the problem, also the f-stop and shutter speed adjustment is out of sinc. Probably the same problem both ways.

There is noone in my area that works on film cameras, so i was wondering how difficult would one of these be to dissemble..ie require special tools, spanner wrenches..ect. I tried tacking photos of the shutter, but i only have a old kodak easy share 5 meg. and i'm not getting the detail i need. hopefully there is someone around here that has seen this problem and can lend me some direction.

Any help will be much appreciated. LabRat

I accomplished freeing up the shutter. But its seems there is some type of residue on it and the timing is off, and it eventually seized up again. Could it be oil, or something. How can I clean it up. best solvent to use with out hurting anything??? Any ideas??

Yesterday Fujica went to garbage. Shutter after 4 days of clean up was still messing . Fujica has a crazy shutter from Citizen . Very hard to open for cleaning ,- almost impossible to put it back together  . Shutter and aperture blades are connected with tiny pins . Made from old sticky shiny metal . Even very small amount of grease will slow down shutter speed . Just buy another one - could be better. But if you still want to clean it -the best way is : open lens front ring with Fuji name on it . You'll see Front side of lens with another two rings . Do not touch lens ring ,- open Outer ring and unscrew lens body /front side of lens/. Next get ZIPPO and Q tips : few drops of Zippo and Mop it . few drops of Zippo and Mop it..few drops of Zippo and Mop it , AS LONG AS IT TAKES . Keep lens open let it dry 12-14 hours . Try . If not do it again . Or buy a better one .
PS
You can unscrew whole lens from rear , and then Rear Lens Part . Just you need a right tools for that

Yeah, i thought about trying to unscrew the whole lens, but you need some type of spanner tool. i got it unstuck but it just keeps clogging up, i guess some type of lube that was in there just degraded really bad. I've thought about trying to find another shutter, but need to find a few more tools to do the job.

Thanks, for the solvent advise. I wasn't sure about what to use, only handy stuff i had was rubbing alcohol, and ethanol, not sure if those would be good enought to get all the oil out. also should any of the internal be lubricated, or will this just lead to shutter problems again.

I really like this camera, it feels really sturdy and well built. Would hate to have to scrap it, but i'm sure i can get it in order. They just have certain nuts and bolts that take specific tools, and it really slows things down and i'm running out of screw drivers to modify!!
