My last box of Fuji Provia 35mm has been very hard to wind/rewind. My Nikon N90s with its automatic advance really grinds under the tension and sometime even gives an error. I dismissed the first roll as a one off, but all the rolls in the box have had this issue. Even when pulling out the tail to load the camera you notice it seems tight. I will have to start using my manual wind FE2 I guess.

I have had no issues with Portra.

Anyone else notice this with their Fuji rolls? Not sure how to read the lot number but I think it is: B/13 6238775. The 5-roll box was purchased off Amazon about a month ago.

From what I understand, you suspect that the film has a problem with perforation.
To check perforation of film the processing labs use of contraction ruler.
Variations of contraction ± 0.3 are supported.
Variations of contraction over 0.4 - 0.5 are critical.
If you do not have such a tool, take a film that you have not had problems over the film perforations problem overlap.
If you see perforations is shifted, then it is a problem with the film suspect.
Step perforation of suspect film is different.
