I've never ordered the lab-sized Pro6 chemicals before and am wondering about package sizes (frustratingly, Fuji doesn't specify this info in their product literature). After reading through the available info on Fuji's website (https://www.fujifilm.com/us/en/business/photofinishing/photographic-chemicals/e-6) and looking at the mixing instructions for each chemical bath, I think I've deciphered what size containers the various concentrates come in, but the fixer has me scratching my head a little. Complicating matters is the fact that Fuji recently resized all of the concentrates and assigned them new catalog numbers. Specifically, there are two new sizes for the Pro6 fixer and replenisher:
  1. 20 liters (catalog number 600021527)
  2. 100 liters (catalog number 600021552).
The mixing instructions suggest that the concentrate is mixed at 1+4 to make a working-strength C-41 fixer and at 1+9 to make a working-strength E-6 fixer. The naming scheme (e.g., "4x10L," "25G," "100L," etc.) appears to follow the C-41 dilution; so, for example, the old "4x10-liter" package (no longer available) contained four 2-liter bottles of concentrate, each of which could prepare 10 liters of working-strength C-41 fixer. Assuming the old naming scheme and dilution ratio still apply, I'm guessing the new 20-liter package is comprised of one 4-liter jug of concentrate and that the 100-liter package contains one 20-liter cube.

For anyone with experience with the new (or old) Pro6 concentrates, does this sound right to you? Many thanks.

Yes, I apologize for not reading your post before I replied 😁. I last ordered Fuji E6 about 2 years ago. I got fixer in a 5 gallon cubitainer, to make 25 gallon of C-41, 50 gallons of E-6. I bought mine from Unique Photo, not sure exactly what is going on today, Unique doesn't seem to be carrying (I can't find any) Fuji E6 any longer. I don't know where to get it except directly from Fuji or maybe B&H.
Freestyle has no Fuji pro 6 kits. Fuji, last I checked has a chemistry manufacturing plant near Chicago, that's alive and well.

I would be interested to know what you find out.

Thanks, @mshchem. That confirms my hypothesis about the cubitainer. I'm guessing the 5-gallon cube that used to get sold in the "25G" fixer package is the same thing that's now getting sold in the "100 liter" package, given the closeness of 25 gallons and 100 liters.

Unique Photo still carries all of the Fuji Pro6 (E-6) chemicals, but like I mentioned in my first post, they've slightly changed the package sizes and catalog numbers. For example, that 25-gallon package of fixer (catalog number 600005467) is no longer available and has been replaced with the two I listed in my first post. If you search for "Pro6" on the Unique website or search by catalog numbers, it'll list all the new package versions (some concentrates are available in a couple sizes).

I noticed that Fuji made this adjustment to the package sizes and catalog numbers of the Pro6 line shortly after they discontinued the 5-liter Fuji-Hunt E-6 kits in fall 2021. I suspect the 5-liter kits were just the Pro6 chemicals packaged smaller and without the inclusion of starters. The switch in package size seems to suggest that Fuji was responding to some kind of change in the market which may have also been a factor in the discontinuation of the 5-liter kits. I recall Henning Serger mentioning in another thread that he thought those 5-liter kits might come back at some point if the supply chain problems got sorted out, but there's been no development as of yet.

Thanks for the update Scott,

I must not have been looking in the right place at Unique. This makes a lot of sense. The USA is getting on the global platform so to speak. I still have different pre bleach and final rinse. The new stuff is just the standard EU and the rest of the world chemistry ie miconazole instead of formalin in final rinse.
I'm sitting on quite a stash of reversal films which I'm going to put to good use
Best, Mike

I have the fixer you are asking about in the 20L size. the concentrate comes in a 2L bottle that when mixed for E-6 gives you 20L.

sorry about the poor photo but my camera phone is garbage
