I recently picked up a Fuji filmback for my Graflex compatible with Polaroid type 55x (like 559) and Fuji 4x5 instant films. I've been trying, but I can't find any type 559 film anywhere at the moment (I'm in Taipei) but have no trouble finding the Fuji equivalent.

So can you do "Polaroid" transfers with Fuji instant films? If so, any exposure and materials tips?

Thanks!

i have tested fuji 100 for making "lifts" and it did fine until it dryed on the paper and then wouldn't stick. In fact i was very encouraged as the emulsion released quickly from the backing , but disappointed when i found it won't adhere to paper regardless of which side the emulsion was placed.

i would just buy one pack and give it a try for transfers . Same exposure and technique as you would use with the polariod materials.

Indeed, if you do an emulsion transfer you get a very durable object that won't easily tear, it's very nice but then you'll have to glue it down or something, it won't stick well on its own. Anyway here is an example from when I was testing it. I just did ~1 min in almost boiling water, then transferred it (with backing) with a spatula to cooler water so that I could handle it more easily, and then it slid right off. Next you might as well clip it up to dry because it won't stick on its own to anything, as far as I can tell.

The image transfer technique is apparently quite different from what you do with polaroid, apparently you have to do the actual transfer in the dark. I haven't gotten it to work satisfactorily yet.
