Freestyle is selling Fuji Neopan SS for $1.89/36 exposure roll. I have never used this film, and I would be interested in hearing from other APUGers who have used it.

How is the grain and how sharp is it, compared with other popular ISO 100-125 films. What developers do you use (my favorites are HC-110 dilution D and D-23), any special problems, et cetera. Any information available would be greatly appreciated before I lay out the Long Green!

It's very grainy and has a tendency for high density in Rodinal, which is the only developer I've used it with. Lovely film, just grainier than the comp. Oh and it's one of the only films that seems to have a useable box speed for my exposure style.

In my hands it has a grain like Plus-X. I develop it in D-76 1+1, 7.5 minutes at 20C, EI 64 iso. It has a purple film base that you have to get used to. For $1.89/36 exposure roll, I would consider it a bargain.

According to late Barry Thornton it is one of best kept secrets in photography.
Well handled, it is marvelous ! I just dream of it in 4x5 sheets.
Try it in Thornton two bath or Di-Xactol and enjoy.

I have a roll I just put in my Trip 35. I might use it for sports day tomorrow. I hope it's grainy - I love grain

I'll be developing in Super-Prodol however.

Very nice film, and very flexible. IMO doesn't look very good in Xtol, but looks nicer in D-76. Kinda clumpy grain in Rodinal, but nice tonality. I think rated at 50-64 and done in Microdol-X 1:0 looks the best. That's a good price, B+H used to sell it for that, now they are 20 cents more.
