Does anyone know why Acros 100 4x5 is only available in quickload? I really want to shoot more, but quickload is such a bad deal for me economically speaking...

I believe you can order separate sheets directly from Japan, but otherwise only available as the quickloads. I don't know the source of the standard sheets, however...

I'm hoping there is a mistake on the website...it claims to be $559 for a box of 20 sheets!

That's a box of twenty boxes of twenty sheets, or 400 sheets total.

Ooopps, ok I see it now! A few too many boxes for me. Maybe we could drum up enough interest here to buy a box...

It's possible. If you were wanting it a couple months from now I'd put in for two boxes of 20 sheets...but, alas, I do not have my large format camera yet.

Well, now's the time to buy one! What kind are you looking to buy? There are TONS for sale locally (San Francisco) that are really good deals...

A beater Speed Graphic is really what I want. One with a bellows that's good but not mint and a Kalart rangefinder. I'm slowly picking away at the crap I don't need anymore and selling stuff. It's only a matter of time until I come up with all the money.

Call Jeff at Badger Graphics. They stock 20 sheet boxes at around $25.

I'll give them a try. Maybe Fuji will just start selling it here someday...

Stephanie--
When you go for a Speed Graphic, be careful if you buy one online. Two separate times I bought them on eBay, and BOTH times they were just as described except for one little thing....neither one was 4x5! They were both 2 1/4x3 1/4! I was lucky to get partial refunds, but I just thought I'd mention it. I keep seeing a semi-beater 4x5 Speed Graphic at a local flea market for about $115. I've never really looked closely to see what kind of shape it's in. I guess I should look next time I see it...

Yeah, wouldn't hurt to look. I do have some money sitting in my Paypal account now...but I was going to use it for color film processing now that I have the Nikon FE. If it's that price and the lens/bellows are in good condition and the thing has a working focal plane shutter...I can work with it.

See link above for the store that sells Fuji Acros 100 in loose sheet boxes of 20.

I have just bought some fuji film from Megaperls thanks to recommendation from Mick Fagan and the service was fast and friendly.
USD 29.90 a box....

I have used them for Acros 4x5 sheets and also had good experience.

Stephanie, I have a penchant for graphics only to look at and handhold occasionally.A good sources is Rick Vogan and his eBay handle is rjvogan. I just got a really nice 2x3 century graphic gray/red bellows from him. The 4x5 I actually shoot once in a while is a Crown Graphic and is a really useable camera..Evan Clarke

It might be showing the results in Yen. You may have to choose USD as the currency.

I've bought 8x10 sheets of Acros from them with no problems whatsoever.

Assuming anyone else here would like to be able to buy this in regular old sheet film boxes, this might be of interest. I sent an e-mail to Fuji and got the following response:

We appreciate the time you have taken to contact us with your suggestion
regarding Neopan Acros 4x5 sheet film. At this time, we do not have
plans to release this film in standard sheet format; only Quickload will
be offered. However, your thoughts regarding the improvement of our
products are very important to us. With this in mind, we have forwarded
your comments to our Marketing Department for future consideration.

Thank you for your interest in Fujifilm products.

Respectfully,

In itself, nothing amazing...but considering the response they got on Velvia 50 (enough to bring it back) maybe a few e-mails here and there requesting the offering of Acros in non-quickload would make some marketing people think about it....

I went ahead and ordered from Megapearls...they were SUPER fast and Super nice, so I will be ordering from them again. Ahhhh, finally a nice box of Acros without those silly quickload packs!

Dirk Rosler, owner of Megaperls, is truly a nice man. I can recommend him highly (if my recommendation is worth anything).

Thanks for the nice feedback all -- it's what keeps us going.
