My lab uses this for the majority of their b+w work.

How does it compare to D76 and Xtol?

i presume when you say "my lab", you mean the lab you use to process your film. i hadn't heard of this developer and found little to compare it to other develoipers. i did find this...

"These chemicals are designed for use in processors with automatic replenishment or larger handiness which replenish.
Sizes to make 20 and 25L are available for minilabs, professional labs and photofinishers.

Products
Negastar RT Film Developer
is designed for roller transport and minilab processors.
Negastar Pro Film Developer
is for dip and dunk processors and continuous type film machines.
Printstar Pro Paper Developer
is suitable for use in all types of paper processor and with all makes of multicontrast paper."

what i did find was info relating to it's "handiness" as it primary characteristic. i'm sure it's comparable, just that any nuances in developing to meet your needs might be difficult.

I suppose I'm going to have to try it and see.

I don't shoot much b+w. 6 rolls is a busy year for me which limits me to the likes of Rodinal and HC-110 for home processing.

When I asked about their b+w developing, I was expecting the reply to be either D76 or Xtol.

AG Photographic in the UK ?

If I remember rightly, Fuji are stopping production of Negastar - although I can't find anything to back that up at the moment

Yeah, AG in the UK. I'm happy with their quality and prices for C41/E6. From their reply to me, I learned that they hand process Kodachrome and CMS 20.

I'm assuming that they process Kodachrome as b+w.

For what it's worth I've recently had some 120 FP4 done at AG in Negastar (if they're still using it) and in Xtol at Palm (Brum's other lab). Not really any noticeable difference between the two that I can see
