No doubt.Fake News
Today when Rep. Nadler was addressing the press I saw a man shooting film.
...
The guy had what looked like a Domke bag, I never see photographers with a bag except when they are on the floor in front of a hearing. Even flash is a thing of the past, maybe he's doing a book. No time for film in today's 30 minute news cycle.I saw that!!! I knew it was an actual camera, but couldn't figure out what it was even though I replayed it several times on my DVR (I have an an ancient CRT television: low resolution).
It was so astonishing to see an actual camera different from the plethora of digital cameras the press is using.
The only thing more astonishing would have been to see someone there with a Mitchell camera.
Wow. CNN had both viewers watching today.
Sorry. Ijust assumed. I was watching Gunsmoke.I wasn't watching CNN; I was watching FOX.
... I had a heart attack a month ago. I avoid all that other.
Just now I watched the most entertaining episode of Perry Mason I've ever seen. Some of those old shows from the 50's and 60's have quite a variety of cameras, although Speed Graphics predominate.
You can find the series starring Charles Bronson called "MAN WITH A CAMERA" He even works in the darkroom. I've watched it on the Internet somewhere.I love that show! The new TV shows just don't "do it" for me. In terms of cameras, the Graflex Crown/Speed/Super Speed Graphics are the most common, but I remember a few episodes of Perry Mason with TLR's, which was cool to see.
Best Gunsmoke episodes are black and white, after it went from half hour to full hour, "Pre Tet Offensive " crackdown on TV violence. Every episode started with Matt shooting a guy in a gunfight with his SAA Colt. I doubt there was any medium format cameras on the show.Sorry. Ijust assumed. Yes, the best ones are the black and whites. But the very best are the 1/2 episodes with Chester. Some of those depicted so well the harsh reality of life on the prairie in all it's tragic sorrow. And it was done within the bounds of decency and good taste. Perry Mason is also one that will be timeless in quality broadcast entertainment. My set stays on MeTV much of the time.Best Gunsmoke episodes are black and white, after it went from half hour to full hour, "Pre Tet Offensive " crackdown on TV violence. Ok, here's a good one that involves photography: a few days ago, Kolchak: Night Stalker, had an episode, "Devil's Platform" where a killer transforms himself into a Rottweiler. Kolchak has photos of the crime scene, which he develops under a safelight. The funny thing is that the print develops in about two seconds, no stop bath, no fixer, and then he switched the lights on!
Later, when Kolchak tries to show the print to his newspaper-editor boss, the dog has disappeared from the print. Kolchak tries to convince his boss the dog was there - it apparently never occurs to him to reprint from the negative! Later in the episode he makes the same bad mistakes developing prints.
Regardless of all that, it amazes me how overly dramatic and bad the acting was on that show.
On MeTV my favorite has to be Columbo. I love Peter Falk. One of the best shows ever.
I used to think that Chester was probably slightly less than average height and the Doc was almost a midget until I later learned how tall James Arness really was.Yes, the best ones are the black and whites. But the very best are the 1/2 episodes with Chester. .
