Very nice!

I've had a GW 690 for twenty-some years, but I didn't know that Fuji ever made a 6x8 in their rangefinder line. How many frames per roll do you get?

I think this was an item for Japan only. Nice camera.

Fuji made the following cameras:
GW670III
GW680III and GSW680III
GW690III and GSW690III

The GW cameras had the 90mm f3.5 lens and the GSW had the 65mm f5.6 lens.

They used the same body and just changed the film gates and exposure counters.

6x7 gets 10 shots on a roll of 120
6x8 gets 9 shots on a roll of 120
6x9 gets 8 shots on a roll of 120

The cameras are basic and very easy to use. The lenses are super sharp and contrasty.

From what I can see, the body seems to be exactly that of the 690, just with a modified film frame (and the film counter accordingly, sure). Is that the case?

I'm curious - if it is the case, why don't you just keep your 690 and make in it a little bit smaller film gate, avoiding the need to sell it in order to get the same with a smaller film format? Do you want to keep the possibility of 9 pictures as opposed to 8 pics?
