Fuji GA645zi not winding film

Long story short I have a fuji GA645zi with a broken screen. I have figured out a way to change the ISO from inside the viewfinder. When I put in the film in the camera and close the back and switch to a command dial the film does not move to the first frame it does nothing. I wanted to know if I had changed the settings or something?

How broken is your screen? Is it completely out? I've read that the sensor that detects if the door is closed is on the same ribbon cable as the screen. It seems that in most cameras, the screen part of the cable goes first, but it's still possible to damage the door switch in the same way as the screen -- by bending the ribbon cable sharply. And if the cable is totally broken, the camera doesn't know if the door is closed so it can't decide to wind the film. It's possible to fix, but not easy and requires re-wiring the sensor.

Its completely out, that is probably the issue then. Cause I can not for the life of me get it to advance the film on its own. Do you know where you get the camera fixed at?

Unfortunately I've only ever heard of it as a DIY repair from the very savvy type. I don't know if anyone will take it on.

there must be an additional problem. I have had one with a dead sceen, but it still worked. so it does with all the people with dead screens that I have heard of.

I didn't mean to say that a broken screen causes broken back sensor, I meant that if the screen is broken it's more likely that the back sensor would also be broken, since the source of the damage is the same.

I'm not an expert at all, so please correct me if you know better. I have heard of many screens not working. they say that this is due to a broken ribbon cable. but in all of these cases I have heard of, including one of mine, the camera still worked. so I don't believe that the back sensor is connected via this cable. if it were, this would mean that the cable always breaks only by a part. that's unlikely. it would make more sense that the sensor is connected from the interior of the camera.
