Has anyone happened to have used both and can give their opinion on the difference in image quality between the two?

I have used both; it's not really a question of image quality between the two, but more of image presentation. The IP B&W 2.0 film (at least, SX-70 version because it's the only variety I've shot) is a very contrasty film vs the FP-3000B reveals much smoother tonal transitions (more akin to Polaroid Type 52 material if you've ever seen that.) For example, under the extreme sunlight conditions of the desert southwest (USA) I won't shoot the IP film, but won't hesitate with the Fuji film. On the flip side, under low contrast conditions the IP film can sing! I'm not saying the Fuji film is no good for low contrast scenes, just different than the IP film.

Hope this helps.

That does help, thank you very much.

Well maybe it doesn't help my wallet, because it sounds like I need both in my film collection

I was going to say that... I do appreciate both films for different reasons. Have fun!

I'd buy the Fuji right now, it will only get more expensive.

The Impossible stock will only get better.

Yep exactly. I think B&W 3.0 will be perfect

Fp-100b's last run expired in 2012 and the rare auction I see for it is $40+ usd a pack, so I can see fp-3000b (last run expired June 2015) being in that range in a year or so from now
