Fuji Across & Pyrocat HD

Hi,
i am testing the fuji across film along with the pyrocat.
Anyone an idea about the time.

I started at 1:1:100 at 19 min. 20 degrees C.
shake first min, after that once each 45 secs.
When i did a print friom the gray card based on the max. black of the paper it came out 1 stop to low. So my negative is to dense.

I want to do a test now by using 15 min.

Anyone else been working with the fuji across and pyrocat hd?
i can not find much info for this combination.

I acros with DiXActol and Exactol a while back and it was great. I will be trying the quickloads again with Pyrocat now that I am using that instead of the thornton chems.

It is a great combo, with excellent acutance (relative to with other devs) but still with super fine grain. I used 120 and 5x4 in the thornton devs and the tonality was incredible.

I always used 2:2:100 at 20 degs C for printing on VC paper to keep the times reasonable. You might find that by doing the same your times will be around the 9-10 min mark....at a wild guess! This is where I would start.

Do you rate the film at 50 or 100 with your time mentioned?

I have developed Acros sheet film in Pyrocat-HD. I checked my notes and it seems like the time I used for development was either 11 or 15 minutes in a Jobo tank with constant agitation. This is done at a 3:2:100 ratio, the film was rated for ISO 100. I'm developing for pt/pd printing.

I got EI80, 11mins 20C 1:1:100 with acros.

My agitation was very similar, except I did one inversion every 30secs. Hope this helps you.

M Liddell has the time that should be about right for you. I develop for 18 min @72f semistand with 1.5:1:200

at EI80 11 minutes, than i'm still developing much to long at 15 min.
I shot some photos today, and will be working on them rest of the week to further get it right...

The point is that i always used rodinal and other custom developer times. This means that the pyrocat actually drops down the develop times a lot.

Acros and Pyrocat is a great combination, i have not used HD but P and now MC. I expose @ 80 and develope in 21C 1+1+100 12 minutes, 1 minute initial kip in a Jobo 2521 and then 10 seconds every minute. This is for a condensor enlarger.

I rated it at 64 I seem to recall. Sorry, I omitted that. I have not found acros to come close to 100 in any devs I have used such as ID11 etc.

I think you will like it. I used Tmax readyloads too and even tho negs from acros and tmax look similar, the acros ones seem to produce much more soulful prints. I never figured out why.
