Fuji 645 Instant film camera???

I have a Fuji 200 Instax camera, and it's a fun little beastie to shoot with, but it would really be nice to use what is really nice instant film in a quality camera. Would it be that hard for Fuji to take their fine 645 cameras and make one for instant film??? That would be sweet.... Right now I enjoy using the Instax, Mamiya Universal Press & Retro-fitted 110a Pathfinder with the Fuji Instant films.

I was thinking along similar lines when we used the 210 and a 100 last week: wouldn't it be nice if they made a better quality camera for this film? If most of their profit is coming from the sale of Instax film, it could be affordable yet of sounder quality and in their long term interest. The only thing I can't understand is the size of the things. A plastic folder is another thing they should do with the instax.

There was apparently a better specified model called the 500 AF Instax, aimed at professionals. But it didn't seem to be widely available (at least not in the UK) and I've never seen one, other than a photograph. It had 18 step auto focus. Here is the spec of this & other models:

I can't see Fujifilm, in the current climate, introducing a better model, unfortunately.

You could put a fuji instant film back on a 2x3 crown graphic or such....

I use my Bronica ETRS with Fuji instant film and its great, here is a link to the photo (there was a url link here which no longer exists)
I would be interested how it compares with how your camera makes it look.

First of all le tme say that I don't have a 2x3 with me here so this is hypothetical at this point. But I am thinking that a polaroid/fujiroid 3.25" packfilm back for an rb67 should be adaptable for this. There may be some registration issues but that should be easily solved, either by adjusting the focus or by making up a simple spacer plate, if necessary.

If there is someone nearby with a 2x3 graphic then I could check into it more carefully. I think it is doable.

Yeah...focusing was my main issue when I tried this. I was using a full-frame polaroid miniportrait/600SE back. Taped it on with gaffers tape and also covered the big gap between the camera and the back with gaffers tape. Very strange results though.

Will definitely look into this. Thanks for re-igniting my spirit to try this project again!
