Turns out Adorama had late 2014 expired for $19, but only had 18 left in stock, I grabbed them, but now I have to stop ... must.. not buy more.

100B is not discontinued. Someone probably bought all the 3000 they could afford. No need to hoard 100B.

B&H still shows 3000 in stock, expired, for $28 a pack. At that price I don't care how many they have 'cause I for one ain't buyin' so I didn't try to add to my cart to find out.

Fuji FP-100B was ISO 100 black and white instant film. It was great to use in the Polaroid Big Shot, which could only use ISO 100 film. It was discontinued about five years ago.

I've heard it produces a higher quality image than FP-3000B, but the only times i've seen it it's been around $40-50 USD, and at that price I don't really want to know how good it is.

I don't think it necessarily produced a better image, but then I loved FP-3000B so much that I'm prejudiced. The 100B was manufactured mainly for passport photo systems that were designed for ISO 100 film.

I would think it would be of lower contrast in that case. My one complaint about 3000B (aside from it being discontinued ) is that it's so darned contrasty.

According to the Fuji data sheets, the FP-100B resolves 25 lines/mm vs 20 lines/mm for FP-3000B.
It also has better reciprocity characteristics: no adjustments needed down to about 10s exposure time vs 1/10s for FP-3000B.

I'm not good at reading characteristic curves, so I can't figure out if it's lower contrast. I don't really see a difference.

I'm well stocked with FP-3000B but just picked up one pack of FP-100B at the Film Photography Project store during the short time they had it in stock. Will give it a try sometime this year.

If the scale of both X and Y axis are the same then relative contrast is indicated by how steep the response line is. The steeper it is, the more contrasty the film, and the less steep the less contrasty.
