Does anyone have any information on FSA Toners - "formamidine sulfuric acid" toners. I read about them in a book I bought called "Photo Art?"
According to the authors they are very controlable and they give nice results.

There is a chapter on it in my toning book (perhaps in your local library? otherwise amazon or ebay etc.)
They are unusal with several layers of control for different results. Not difficult and quite rewarding

The examples in Tim's book are fantastic. The tone is quite unique, and I think it is generally more pleasing than most of the sepia/brown toner hues. FSA is not available from most of the usual photogrraphic sources, but it is widely used in dying fabrics. Dye suppliers often have it, but I can't find a source righ now. Anyone?
Silverprint (http://www.silverprint.co.uk/) sell Speedibrews FSA toner. AFAIK all Speedibrews products are in dry powder form so hopefully shipping should be possible and not too expensive if you can't find a closer supplier.
