hello
for sale is my cherished Zeiss Ikon Mess Ikonta C 524/2 a German classic from the mid 1950's.

This highly prized & very capable 6x9 folding rangefinder boasts a 10 bladed Synchro Compur MX shutter, twinned with the stupendous final version coated 4 element Carl Zeiss Opton (red) T Tessar f3.5 105mm lens.

A Zeiss Mess Ikonta has an uncoupled rangefinder that is easy to use even with glasses (I'm told). There is a window for the rangefinder & separate central window to compose framing - that makes for a vastly brighter viewfinder than the two combined.

The camera was purchased fully CLA'd & calibrated from German folding rangefinder expert Jurgen Kreckel. Optics are without issue, coatings are excellent, there is no fungus, mould, haze or separation. The top-of-the-line 10 blade Synchro Compur shutter works perfectly & has never missed a beat. Focus is smooth, bellows have no leaks, there are no dings, Zeiss bumps, corrosion or signs of abuse - only careful use.

Included in the sale is a very well made purple velvet lined leather ERC that fits the camera perfectly.

Reluctant sale to raise funds for a lens & asking exactly what I put into this camera: $475
Payment via Paypal, I am offering free USPS postage with tracking to mainland USA, insured postage would be charged at cost. International buyers would be charged USPS International postage at cost to your location. I do not add transaction, packaging or transit expenses to postage charge.

I occasionally list personally owned camera gear on the big auction website for over 12 years now (same user name, also same name for flickr) & proud to have 100% feedback. I treat any sale with utmost regard & meticulously pack parcels as if they are addressed to myself.

Camera is from an non-smoking & pet dander free household.

Thanks for looking.
Best
alex

by listing a cherished camera here on APUG i might have a headstart on that low esteem already!

agreed, these last version 6x9 Ikontas with red T Tessar & 10 blade Synchro Compur are difficult to find... wouldn't mind if there's no sale - it's a fantastic camera to squeeze into the kit bag - don't tell the mrs!

best
