For Sale FS - Yashica D

I always wanted a TLR and a couple of years ago I bought this Yashica D. I never could get the hang of the TLR ergonomics and lurch around like a drunken sailor when trying to compose. I don't think I've used it since shortly after I bought it. So, it's time for it to go to someone who'll use it, and free up some more space on my camera shelf. Lens is the Yashikor (triplet, I believe, but I thought it got the job done quite nicely). There ae some light scuffs on the front - only visible when looking through the glass at a bright source (Like a 4-LED petzel, not petzval, which is how I found them) and when you're trying to focus on the front glass. I haven't tried the self timer or the flash sync, but I tested the shutter this morning (see below). Take the higher speeds with a grain of salt since I"m using audacity and its really only accurate to around 1/200s.

$75 + shipping (USPS Priority Mail in CONUS). I prefer not to deal with the hassle of customs forms and shipping overseas. 3% to APUG. Payment via paypal (I cover the fees, unless you're inclined to pay as a gift).

I have one of these and this is a great camera and the price is fantastic. I paid $175 for mine about 12 years ago. I've also dealt with Dan several times and wouldn't hesitate to again. Great camera sold but a great guy. You can't lose!

In addition, Mark Hama will CLA these guys. He did mine last year and it's like new.

I would buy it in a minute. My first "real" camera was a Yashica D. I can attest that it is a rugged, solid, reliable work horse. But I am trying to reduce my number of cameras, so even with the most sincere desires, I must abstain.

Take my word for it, having multiple Yashica's or any TLR for that matter is not a bad idea. I just bought a Walzflex with a non-functioning focus but it still takes great pic's. That along with my Yashica Mat 124G, 24 and two Rollei's make up my TLR armory. If I didn't think that it would end in divorce I would like to add a "D" to my list.

I think my description of the state of the glass was unclear. The viewscreen is fine (could use some cleaning) and has a fresnel (I believe that's standard for these, with a red grid). I didn't see any scratches on the viewing lens. I only saw them when I looked through the taking lens at a bright light and focused on the glass itself (ie, the scratches are pretty light, unlike an Ektar I have). With the shutter closed and looking in room light, I couldn't see them - so, if there are scratches on the viewing lens (which is possible since they're on the taking lens) I probably wouldn't see them either.

I believe I found the negatives for the film I ran through the camera. If so, I'll post a couple tonight.
