You don't see one of these every day. This is the nicest example of this rare Voigtlander camera that I've ever come across. They don't turn up very often in this condition, or in any condition for that matter. It's a Voigtlander Focusing Brillant w/ a 75mm f3.5 Heliar lens in a Compur-Rapid shutter that runs to 1/500. Condition is what I would term very good to excellent. It's one of the smallest and lightest 120, 6x6 TLRs you can find, and my old one took pictures that were much nicer than my 'blad. This one even has the factory yellow filter in the side door closet. Alas, no extinction meter anymore, but you might be able to find one. It is untested and sold as-is, but I see no reason why it wouldn't be a good shooter out of the box. I think the camera dates from 1938, but am not 100% sure on this. It's as clean as a pin inside.
The Bakelite body is in excellent condition, the shutter runs smoothly on all speeds, and the lens is clean and clear. Top WLF works well (needs a little tweaking to sit straight when closed, but very minor), and it includes an ingenious sports finder. It has a red window, and the film counter appears to be working, but I haven't checked it w/ film. Focus is smooth. You focus these by using just the little focusing spot on the brilliant finder, which is a PITA, but once you get used to it is no big deal. The only issues that I see are that the magnifier is a little tricky to get fixed into position, but stays there fine once you figure it out. The mirror could be replaced at some point quite easily (about $8 from an ebay seller), but works well just as it is. The case is getting a little ratty, but appears to be handmade, probably by the original photographer, and is labeled "G H Weller, Photographer". Really neat bit of history, and he devised a metal clip on the back so that he could hang the camera on his hip I assume. I have samples from an old beater that I used to own (one shot is included here) if anyone is interested in seeing how these cameras image w/ this lens. Very few of these were made w/ the top of the line 5 element Heliar lens.
