The issue
About 18 months ago I turned this on at the start of a printing session. Left it to warm up and when I returned the heating light was off so I thought it was good to go. But the chems were cold. I unplugged the unit, plugged it back in, noted the light was on and went away again. When I came back the light was off again and the chems were cold, one last try with unplugging and now the light won't come on at all. I tried twisting the cable, I changed the plug fuse and in the end I bought a new plug and wired that in but no joy. In summary - it was working, then worked occasionally, now does not work.
The unit is water tight with no damage. It's a bit dirty from RA4 chems. One of the floating lids has gone. You'll see in the photo cable ties around the taps: this was to stop very minor weeping (like one drip every 30 mins). This unit is good if you want to do B&W or room temp RA4, if you're handy with electronics you may be able to bring it back to life which would be wonderful.
I am happy to post this, it is fragile so it will have to be insured. Happy for local pick up, I'm just off J15 of the M40.
You can buy new heating elements from Nova. They are improved and even have a CE mark. Temperature is controlled from the power converter (wall wart type), not at the processor anymore. However, they need a 50Hz supply. That means that 60Hz users can't use a simple voltage converter, which would otherwise be reasonable, at only a little more than 300W.

Mshchem, I am selling off my darkroom equipment, and I had a 16x20 unit shipped from UK to me ~10 years ago. I have the converter to work with US 110/60Hz. If interested, contact me. I will put stuff on Classified soon.
