For Sale FS: Two Globuscopes in working condition

This is not exactly a sale, more of a pre-sale...to gauge interest.

I have two Globuscopes in very nice condition. At the moment, they are completely disassembled. I am capable of reassembling them to full working order. However, before I spend the hours to do it, I'd like to know if anyone is interested in owning them. And, if so, what price might be fair.

I have a 3rd, that I use to shoot with and have been happy with the results. Pretty consistent. Very fun and different. Plus, it turns heads!

Very cool cameras, I've used one once and it's a pretty trippy experience. Hard to nail down a price on them though but I think they've been selling for well over 1k

Can you give the uninitiated a quick primer on the Globuscope?

Well, I am glad to see there is interest. I will start reassembly at the end of the month and should have the cameras ready during the summer.

A primer on a Globuscope: it is a slit-scan hand-held camera. You load the 35mm film. Close the lid, and wind the spring by turning the top. This winds the film on the takeup reel. You set your aperture (and if necessary choose the fast/slow rotation rate). Point and shoot. The focus is hyperfocal always. The camera spins 180 degrees after each tap on the shutter. Hold it down and it will spin until it runs out of film.

Usually you want to go around twice (720 degrees) to make sure you can choose the optimal left edge and right edge on your final print. Shots are best made with the sun out of frame (behind a building, behind clouds, or at high noon). You get about 8 revolutions on a roll of 36 exp film. Ask your photo lab to develop with 'no cuts'.

Early 1980's. They are the second generation globuscopes and do not have the exposure computer on the top.
