Here's a "rarity" for you, a 6x9 folder from England, most likely pre-WWII in glorious bakelite, the stuff Bell was founded upon.

It's a little bit more than a box camera, in that it has two focusing positions, Near and FAR, one shutter speeds (around 1/20s), a T setting, and 4 approximate apertures which I have calculated to be between f/13 and f/22.

The lens is probably a meniscus, and is usable for contact prints or small enlargements. Film advance is through a red window. It has an adjustable finder, for horizontal or vertical shots. Has a tripod hole for 1/4".

A nice semi-toy camera, or a tourist camera for taking pictures at the beach.

I think it does take 120 film.

Steve.

Hello Michel,
Would you happen to have any pictures taken with it that you could post up?

I do, but they're not scanned. Let me see if I can dig them up. No crazy swirlies or distorsion effect, though.

OK, back from the long weekend and other stuff, here are some scans from 5x7 prints:

First you can notice the fact that it's possible to get decent contrast out of the cheapie lens. This must have been printed on G3 or G4 RC paper. But note especially how unflat the field is: can you see the blurred sides?

The focus has two positions: Near and Far. This was taken with the Near position. You can still notice the soft sides, but the center is agreeably sharp, and the tonality respectable. This is 6x9 after all, and you can see that the drapé on the coat is fine!
