This lens does a neat little trick when you actuate the second helicoid for closest focusing range: soft focus!
Seems variable with aperture, so less of a SF effect at f/8 or smaller when in the near-macro range. Last two images are with the lens at regular minimum focus distance on a non-film APS-C format Canon camera and total MFD (using the second helicoid) with the soft focus at full effect (full aperture). No editing/adjustment.
Glass is clean, no fungus/haze/scratching/cleaning marks. Stops down quickly with no aperture issues. Nice and sharp with normal use. I prefer this to any of the Takumar 200mms I have had but I end up reaching for the 300mm when I need a tele longer than 85mm. I have the original Sigma front cap for this, but no rear cap.
