Evening folks,

Looks like its time to clear away some of my slot car gear that has been gathering dust for the last few years. While its a long shot, I thought I would try here first....

If you are a F1 fan like me, you would have been all over the Ron Howard movie "Rush" like I was late last year.....Well, now you can create your own James Hunt and Nikki Lauda drama with the Limited Edition 1/32nd scale Scalextric Classic Grand Prix Formula One 1976 boxed set.

In the box is faithful reproductions of the Nikki Lauda Ferrari 312T2 and James Hunt McLaren M23. Scalextrix produced these in 2007, as part of their Classic GP range, in a limited edition run of 8000 units. These have been sold out for over 5 years and have now becoming collectors items. I bought the box set new from a local hobby store.

These cars are as new and have never been used.
The box, though, has been opened and has corner damage, some damage to the cardboard where the lid joins the rest of the box and some general scuffing. If there is a serious buyer/collector who is interested, I can provide pictures.

I'm looking to get $150 AU for the set + actual postage and handling. (That is around $130 US and 85 GBP).

If you are interested, please send me a PM

Cheers

Boy, this brings back memories. I used to race slot cars at huge public tracks in the US. Rewound and balanced my own Mabuchi motors, built my controllers, etc. Mine were 1/24th scale, but I guess yours are 1/32nd? Very nice looking cars.

I've always followed F1, but the cars and most of the tracks don't excite me anymore. More like vacuum cleaners than screaming petrol powered cars.

These are 1/32nd, but I did have a few 1/24th scale cars.

I built my own 16 metre 4 lane track out of MDF around 8 years ago. I enjoyed the project and enjoyed playing with the cars, but then Photography took over as my main hobby. I sold the track around 4 years ago, but still have quite a few of the cars.

I used to be part of group that raced every Monday night across 4 or 5 different tracks, all in peoples garages. I must admit, I had a ball doing it, but its time to let go!
