I have been using my Saunders UA series easel's for almost 30 years and they are the only one's I am comfortable with in the lab. I just can't 'learn' another easel, for that reaon alone I am selling my Salthill 11X14 easel. It is truely a Cadillac - the blades turn with a silky precision (think a buttery smooth freshly cleaned Leica M3 - yeah - that smooth). It is very heavy, maybe 20 lbs unboxed. It has leveling feet (that are adjusted by an allen wrench from the top side).
Condition - very well worn, a little rust on 3 of the knobs and on the piston. Also - the piston needs to be serviced or replaced (it doen't hold the easel open 100% of the time, is really bad when the darkroom is cold). I found the replacement last year, but they were like $140, so I decided to live with it. The rubber feet are a little worn/chewed up from being slid all around the platen. All the blades are aquare and flat. I really liked the 5th blade, for setting the top limit of your paper.
Comes with the two magnetic guide strips.
These are rare - so that makes it hard to price. Because of the condition, I'm setting the price at $200 + shipping. I'm figure it'll take around $50 to ship most places in CONUS, alot more if you live in Canada or overseas.
