SOLD
Rolleiflex 2.8f. This is an old friend. I bought it in about 2002 and it's been a solid performer. I have said before (and continue to say) that this camera has given me more "keeper" images than all my other cameras combined. That's a strong statement. And it reflects not only the camera, but the way I have related to the camera. So, why the heck am I listing it for sale? Because I need to move across the country to take a job. And moving is expensive.
Please take a look at the photos. It's not a beauty queen and the meter doesn't work, but it is a solid reliable camera. When I bought it (again, in about 2002) I sent it to Harry Fleenor at Oceanside Camera who went over it for me. He pronounced it a very fit example of the model and my results have been testimony to that. I do not have the paperwork from that CLA, but the Oceanside sticker is still inside the film chamber. That was the last time the camera was serviced. There has not been a need for service since.
The ƒ/2.8 Planar taking lens is clean and clear, as is the viewing lens. No defects are noted. The shutter speeds sound right on and performance has underscored that.
The front panel shows some distortion in the metal on the right side (see photos). But no issues have been noted. It is only a cosmetic concern.
And overall the camera does show wear from the years. I am pricing the camera accordingly.
This is not the 12/24 version, but takes regular 120 film for 12 6x6 exposures. An "eveready" case is included, but there is no neck strap. For my own purposes I have not used the eveready case, finding it awkward to use and most often in the way. But it's included here since it goes with the camera.
An original type Rollei satin finish double lens cap is included. The Rolleifix is not included.
Asking $1200. PayPal OK. Domestic shipping via Priority Mail included.
Please ask any questions. I prefer email instead of PM's as it's much easier to keep track of. My email is wfwhitaker AT gmail DOT com
