For sale is a Pentax 6x7 focusing barrel for the Rodenstock Imagon 200mm lens. The barrel is in excellent condition. This unusual accessory lets you use the 200mm Imagon lens cell with your Petax 6x7 camera. The cell screws into the small adapter ring on the left in the first photo. Not just the Imagon, but you can use any cell that fits the threads and experiment. An added bonus is that a Copal 3 shutter can be screwed directly into the barrel without the adapter. The possibilities are endless!

Please note that the listing is only for the focusing barrel and lens adapter ring.

including worldwide EMS shipping. Payment is in Japanese Yen, payable via Paypal invoice or bank transfer through TransferWise.

Thanks for looking,
Kumar

that's weird, is that an official accessory or something cobbled together out of the helicoid extension and some kind of parts?

or maybe it's a 165mm lens that someone gutted and converted?

I believe they were made by Schmachtenburg for re-issued 150 & 120mm Imagon lenses for a variety of focal plane shuttered medium format systems in the 1980's. The tube is an extension for the 150mm.

Yes, it was common thing in nineties these helicoid tubes to use LF lens on MF format.
I suspect they were way cheaper than brand new MF lens in that time, when almost every studio had LF outfit, but market demand was in favor MF - faster result, enough resolution.

No, it is not something cobbled together by an enthusiastic photographer/machinist. It is a single unit. If you have looked carefully, there are no markings of any sort - aperture, focus, etc. Not even the Pentax name. All these would have been present if it was a modified item.
I have not seen this specific barrel for anything other than the 200mm Imagon, and over the past four years, I've sold around a dozen of them, some including the lens, disks and hood.

Yes - they were made specifically for the Imagons which Schmachtenburg had Rodenstock re-issue. In other words, they are a top quality, dedicated component.

I've owned the 120mm and 150mm Imagons and they are wonderful on MF. At the time I used them with an Exakta 66.

Would be awesome on Pentax 6x7

No doubt that its precise machinery from outstanding seller
