Well, it says anything goes.

Hi All,

I'm selling a Paillard (of Bolex fame!) portable gramophone. It works great. No batteries or power cord required; this thing will work after the Zombie (or any other type) Apocalypse. Play all you Bix and Satchmo recordings on the player they were meant for. Here is a clip of the thing in action:

This gramophone has a richer sound than the video indicates but not as rich as my Orthophonic Victrola. The song is "The One I Love Just Can't Be Bothered With Me" by Fred Culley and The Royal York Hotel Orchestra. One can just imagine them crossing Front Street in front of the Royal York in February 1930 and making their way to Union Station taking the train to Montreal and ending up in Lachine for one of the few recordings Victor made in Canada during the dirty thirties.
It weighs about 11 lbs and measures about 15x12x5 inches so it won't be cheap to ship.
I'll throw in a packet of 100 needle, remember to change after each side!

I'm looking at $90 US plus shipping for it, Paypal only please.
Ships from Ottawa, Ontario

Feel free to ask me any questions about this.

Thanks for Looking,
Mike

I think the needles then were inexpensive little metal spikes too - not like the expensive diamond tipped cartridge needles of today.

$10 will get you 100 needles these days.
Loud, medium and soft needles are all easily available online.
