The Packard is usually screwed to the back of the lens board, and a hole drilled in the lens board to allow a air tube to go through. The barrel lens is then mounted to the front of the lens board, sometimes with a raised box to allow for the rear element to clear the shutter.

Another method used is to mount the Packard to the front of the lens.
