I'm selling this circa 1955 Top Rangefinder Pacemaker Crown Graphic.
My understanding is that what makes it a "Special" is the Xenar lens instead of the Optar and the text on the board. Camera is in good condition with a graflok back with fresnel and the proper rangefinder cam for this lens (P31, I believe).
Lens is a clean 135mm Xenar in a Syncro Compur shutter. 1 second sounds about right and the shutter speeds sound good from there but it will need a CLA sometime fairly soon - It's sometimes a bit fiddly to cock the shutter, and B fires at an instantaneous speed. The RF is bright and contrasty and the night focus system works - no corrosion on the battery contacts and the cover is in place for the battery compartment. The camera had a P6 cam in it and I had the RF and infinity stops adjusted as well as I could get it, when I thought to check the cam. I haven't readjusted it but it'll probably need a bit of tweaking.
As the photos show, the camera is in generally good condition - a bit of paint loss on the back, the leather is a bit rough on the bottom, and the handle is a bit worn.
The tripod is not included, although I have a Bogen/Manfrotto 3035/3047 if someone wants to buy it locally.
Asking $250+shipping (USPS Priority Mail + insurance).
Thanks,
Dan
