Here is a Vivitar 400SL. It's built like a tank, Ken Rockwell did a nice write up on these. It has seen a lot of use, I consider it "my beater". I got this as a backup for my Spotmatic F. It uses M42 mount lenses, and is fun to use. The metering is unique in that you press the shutter release half way and it meters. The 400SL is very simple in design, but a real rugged camera.
Shutter speeds sound good, film winding is smooth, film counter works. It definitely needs new seals and bumper foam, but surprisingly takes nice pics in spite of that. Self timer works too.
It uses a standard A76 type battery for the meter that lasts forever. The Vivitar 50mm 1.9 lens is clean, no haze or fungus. Images are tack sharp. Front and back elements show no signs of abuse.
The camera has a few dings, but no real dents, there is black paint loss and scratches, but the leatherette is good.
The only problem I had with it was at one time someone dinged the viewfinder plastic on the left side as you are looking through it. The glass was fine, but I did a little repair on the broken plastic and it works. If you look closely in the pics you can see where the plastic viewfinder frame on the left was damaged. You may have to get creative to put a eye cup on it. Other than that it's a real workhorse. And no one will try to steal it from you!
I'm asking $25 and shipping for it in USA. Shipping is about $12. Paypal accepted. If not satisfied return for full refund.
Thanks for looking,
