I'm cleaning out my closet and have a bunch of stuff for sale or trade.

Things I'm interested in getting
5x7 film holders
Speed graphic any working condition (want focal plane shutter, don't care re: viewfinder)
Other 4x5 field camera
Lenses for 5x7
Harrison changing tent
Mamiya C330 lenses or accesories

Ok...here goes.

1) Crown Graphic.
I bought this from Colin. I wasn't sure the difference between a Crown and a Speed at the time, and realize now that I really wanted the focal plane shutter. I have a 5x7 field camera and I'm building a reducing back for it, so I don't really need this camera. That said it's in really nice shape. I hesitate to say 'mint' because it's got the dust of a normal old camera but it's very clean. Everything seems to operate as it should. Movements are clean, nothings bent. Colin told me the viewfinder was operable but not calibrated, I honestly don't know how they work so I'll have to trust him. Colin had it at $200 shipped priority in the United States so I'll start with that. The only 'defect' is that it has a strip of velcro attached to the top to attach a dark cloth. I'm pretty sure it would be removable easily but I'll leave that to you.

2) #2 was a Pentax MX sold on LFF.info.

3) Morris Small Softbox
This is a great little softbox for doing portraits, small stuff. I believe it's this one at B+H. I've had it forever and used it a lot. I guess I could say it's a little dusty, and probably could do with a wash but otherwise it's great, and I would use it without washing it (that's just me). It comes with an attachment so that you can use a small flash. I used this with my Canon 5D and 580ex and really loved it for portraits. If you put it really close to the subject without getting it in the frame, it gives a nice soft light that falls off quickly. I used it almost exclusively for doing these portraits. BTW in the picture I have the hot shoe attachment on backwords. $40 + S&H

4) Efke Positive 5x7 paper
Bought this when I bought my 5x7. Never used it and probably won't. You can look online, it's interesting stuff. I don't know much about it. Stored in my apartment for the last 6 months. Should be fine but sold as-is. Here it is at freestyle. $8 + S/H

5) Vivitar 385 Flash
This flash is in otherwise great condition but there's something a little wrong with it. It has a replacement metal shoe that seems to be installed wrong. So the PC cord socket doesn't work. My guess is that someone who knew about them could fix it. But flashes are dangerous to work on, and I would die. Included is a cheap little optical slave. I just put it on the flash and it fires fine when triggered by another flash. So I think the hot shoe fire thing on the bottom is good, just the PC cord socket is messed. That said, this is 100% as-is. And not sure about the trigger voltage, so don't destroy your nice digital camera with it. $10 + S&H

6) Filters
I got these filters for doing different kinds of lighting effects. In the tube there is a sheet of reflective silver film (I think it might be adhesive but I'm not sure), a sheet of 3/4 CTO, a sheet of tough green and a sheet of this black heavy tin foilish stuff that I think you can make snoots out of. The sheets of filter are something like 11x14. I've cut little bits off of them but not much.

Also included is a set of "strobist" lighting filters. These are smaller sheets, I think I got them in a kit from MPEX. There's a good variety here and you can use them on small flashes. I cut one width off each one, to make a filter kit for one flash. This is the rest of them. Currently not doing much with lighting and probably will start fresh when I do. All this great filtering for the low, low price of $10 + S&H I can stuff the small sheets in the tube that the big sheets are in and should be able to mail for just a few bucks.

7) Paparazzi Flash Handle.
Get chased by celebrities while you have your Yashica Flex and the above Vivitar 385 (after you fix the PC cord thing) on this sweet flash handle. It's been floating around the family for many years, never been used. I think the condition is accordant to that. $20 + S&H

Last but not least...

8) Czech Violin. This is more for trade than for sale. This is a 1920's ish (aka somewhere between 1890 and 1950) Czech(ish) violin. I played Irish fiddle music on this violin for about 10 years. I would say it's a reasonable instrument. Not a strad, not a turd. Just a garden variety violin. I had it appraised about 12 years ago for $2k. In the meantime, due to the glut of chinese violins, the overall price for student quality violins has dropped.

The violin is in good shape with no significant cracks or chips. It would benefit from a decent set up, but currently has strings and a decent bridge, and a fine tuner tailpiece. No bow. Comes with the case you see, an old leather case that works fine. Ideally you'd get a decent case for it. Some kid scratched his initials into it somewhere along the line, so you have the pleasure of playing "A.J."'s violin.

Would like to trade it for $500 worth of photography stuff.

Again, looking for a speed graphic, 4x5 field camera, 5x7 holders, lenses other than a 180mm for 5x7, Mamiya C330 lenses or accesories, Leica M lenses, Cosina M lenses, film, etc. Also looking for a Harrison Changing tent, big enough for 5x7, for trade.

If you have an old Speed Graphic, I'm mostly just looking for the focal plane shutter. I don't need a functioning view finder (that would be nice but I don't really care). So I'm willing to consider your beater speed, preferably with a lens, for this very clean Crown.

Your ad subject line says "Pentax MX" -- that's a popular model, but I don't see that you listed it.

I think I see it in a box in the background of the photo of the back side of the softbox....so, we have proof of existence.

Oh, wait...it's right there after all the photos of the Crown Graphic and before the soft box. Says "Sold" in the fine print.

sorry, I pasted the post from another forum, the MX is sold. I couldn't edit the subject line after I posted it. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks!

Hey, I remember that Crown from when Colin was selling it. I don't remember if he said the range finder works or not....does it?

Colin says it works but it's not calibrated. It moves back and forth. I'm not sure what these normally look like. There's a bubble that moves but it's not directly superimposed on the scene, the rangefinder scene is a little above where it would be on a Leica. I don't know. I think it works, but I've never seen another one so I can't really compare it to anything.

Thanks Bruce

Update:
Crown is gone. Flash is gone. Gels are gone.

Would really like to trade this violin for something interesting. Something on my list of trade interests or something cool you have lying around. Open for negotiations. It's a good instrument, and in my opinion a house is not a home without a violin hanging around.

Still available:
Softbox $30 + S+H
Flash Handle $10 + S&H
Violin trade for $250 worth of equipment.

Trades still considered for equivalent value.
5x7 film holders
harrison changing tent for 5x7

Hi, will the softbox work with a Metz 45 CL-4? If so, I will take it. Please email me with details. Thank you.

Everything except the violin is gone. Reasonable or unreasonable trades for film, cameras, lenses, parts will be considered. May be moving sometime soon and don't really want to move it because I don't use it.
