Here is an Olympus OM-PC which is in fine working condition. You probably already know this was a very sophisticated OM model with features not found on other OM models. If you're curious, you can research it on Google, but briefly it has DX coding, both manual & programmed auto options, a feature known as ESP (this is where the camera senses things you might want to photograph based on what you've taken pictures of in the past and randomly takes pictures of them on its own to surprise you later...so you have to be careful to only photograph Prince Harry with his clothes on), a large viewfinder and a battery conservation feature. The camera works fine. The covering has a tendency to show fingerprints, and I've never known why. Feels slick or something. There is a spot of damage and the loss of a top screw over below the rewind knob area. And this one has what I think must be a factory special finish option that gives it a multi colored tiger-like look on the ends. You'll get lots of compliments on this, I'm sure. It comes with a 50mm / 1.8 Zuiko lens and I'll include a copy of the manual.

$25 plus actual cost of shipping.

For anyone whose mind works along very literal lines...yes, I was kidding about the ESP thing. This is really an advanced metering system that senses and cures backlighting and other similar exposure problems. In the words of Olympus "you don't need to worry about how the picture will turn out." And in my experience, that was pretty much true. I was also kidding about the special finish. Olympus didn't add that. A previous owner who apparently used a motorcycle chain or some bobwire for a strap caused that.

Let's take a look...

The interesting thing (at least to me) is that Olympus copper plated the plastic before painting it. Further, it was a thick plating of copper...not what in the plating world we would call a flash coat. Unless Olympus planned on plating it with another metal (which to my knowledge they never did), I'm perplexed as to why they plated it in the first place. I mean, I wonder how much more it would have cost to have just stamped one out of metal and been done with it. Or conversely to just mold a top plate out of black plastic like Konica, Minolta, Chinon, Cosina, Ricoh, Canon and others were doing long before this camera was made.

I agree...the metering is super. One of those things you miss when you pick up an OM-1 or earlier model. Maybe from your battery experience the "battery conservation feature" Olympus boasted about didn't work so well? I didn't notice a battery problem with this one. The OM model I had terrible battery experience with was the OM-F. That one, as I recall used 5 batteries and they didn't last long at all. It made me wonder if Olympus had bought stock in a battery maker or something. By far and away the model I had the least battery trouble with was the OM-10. I never had a blink of trouble of any sort with mine. This OM-PC may be sold, by the way.
