For Sale FS: Olympus XA2 and A-11 Flash + Batteries - one caveat though...

I have no pictures of the camera at present, but can try to upload some soon. I did however include a picture; one which has absolutely nothing to do with this camera, but I know that people like to look at them so I figured I would oblige.

I picked up an Olympus XA2 with accompanying A-11 flash not long ago. I have not put a roll of film through it because when I loaded it with batteries and watched to see if the shutter was working, it appeared to not function properly. It's odd; I can hear something that sounds like the shutter, and it varies appropriately with differing light levels, but by observing the lens I cannot see the shutter opening. For that reason, I'm saying the camera is AS-IS.

However, everything else works, including the A-11 flash. The lens appears to focus properly and is clean, all the indicator lights work, the film chamber is clean and all latches are nice and secure. If it weren't for what I think is a busted shutter, the camera & flash are in excellent condition.

Also, since I had to buy 3 batteries for testing purposes, I'll be including 3 brand new LR/SR44 batteries for the camera.

So, how about $30 shipped in the continental US? And if you agree to buy it before I upload pictures I'll knock off $5.

International is welcome as well.

*Alternatively, am I missing something regarding the shutter? I loaded a roll of junk film to see if that made any difference and it did not.*

Ok, here she is.

The battery compartment is clean; no corrosion. The self timer and all functions (other than the shutter) work well. The 35mm f/3.5 lens is in good shape with no scratches and appears quite clean & clear. The whole camera could benefit from a Q-tip to remove dust and make-up in the nooks & crannies (afterall, it was something of a purse camera...) but all told it is very clean.

Think of the sale as an A-11 flash, 3 fresh batteries and a parts body, though I'm sure someone handier than I can figure out what's wrong with it.
