I am selling my Nikon Super Coolscan 9000 ED scanner with ICE+.
It is in a perfectly functioning state as it has been used at best to scan maximum 10 6x9 slides. It looks like new. I believe that you will be very happy with its condition. Please kindly examine the photos about its condition.
Please note that this is an equipment from more civilized time when one had to use Firewire 400 for high performance appliance connection. The best use case is an old Windows XP or Vista workstation with an Firewire connection. You can use Nikon original software with this setup.
If you can't afford any other ancient hardware laying around then you can use this scanner on a modern machine given that you accept some reservations.
Your machine must support Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C, you can't use Nikon software and must use Vuescan instead (additional charges my apply depending on the version you choose) and you must accept cascade of adapters.
You will need Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 adapter, Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter and finally Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter.
Fortunately all these adapters are included with this offer. It creates an odd contraption but works flawlessly. I tested that it worked without issues on my recent Thinkpad laptop.
I would like to add few words of caution. This is an old electro-mechanical item and does not have any valid warranty. You will buy this with your own risk. Naturally when the scanner does not turn on just after you received it, then you can return it for free at my expense.
I can't accept returns in the case you happen to change your mind and therefore please consider this purchase very carefully.
Please make sure before the purchase that your PC or laptop is capable to support this scanner. If you are unsure then please contact me to evaluate your setup.
Scanners do not work without creating noise. Please be aware that you have to tolerate relatively noisy operation produced by microsteping of the scanner motors. If you think that this is too much to bear then this product can make you unhappy regardless of the wonderful results.
