Trying to raise some money to expand my Canon EOS 35mm system.
For sale is a clean Nikon SB-16B electronic flash ("speedlight"). There are a few scratches here and there but it's fully operational and shows no evidence of corrosion in the battery compartment. This unit consists of the SB-16 manually-zooming flash head and an interchangeable AS-9 module that has a standard ISO-type flash foot (making it an SB-16B). This is compatible with all of Nikon's older TTL flash cameras (like the FG, FA, N8008s, F4, etc) but not the digital cameras as far as I know.
In addition to the TTL mode it also offers two auto aperture settings, a motor drive setting (four flashes per second), and a nice powerful manual mode; these modes work on almost any camera with a hot shoe or a PC socket. There's also a PC socket for off-camera use.
Nikon never made an autofocus module for this unit. If you'd like to use it in TTL mode on an F3, you can get the AS-8 module, making it an SB-16A (I don't own that module unfortunately). When I've used this on my F3, I've attached it to a Vivitar F3-to-ISO flash shoe adapter, which admittedly is a little clumsy and top-heavy with such a large flash. I will include the Vivitar adapter if you want it, but it's only useful with an F3, and anyway if you want to use flash with the F3 you're really better off with the SB-16A.
