I think these 3rd generation Maxxum cameras give a lot of bang for the buck. The 600si and 650si are interesting in that their controls are so much like a manual camera. Basically, dials rather than buttons or menus. Uses A-mount lenses which were produced by Minolta and then Sony (after Sony bought Minolta). Used lenses are cheap for their quality. The built-in flash is handle for those times when you didn't expect to need flash or for fill flash.

The 650si is the same as the 600si, except has a data back which can be turned off. The only negative (in my view) is that these cameras use 2CR5 Lithium batteries. They last a long time but not as easily found as AAs. I just get them online for $4-5 each and keep some extras. As an alternative, there is a battery grip for these cameras that uses AA batteries.

I've been going a bit crazy with these and I don't need 4 A-mount bodies. This one was last used a 3 months ago and is working fine. I'll include a good battery to get you started.

$45 for body and lens, plus shipping.

Why, why, why are these AF maddeningly difficult to sell? - David Lyga

In this case, for this camera, 2 reasons. First, as good as they are, when they came out they played second fiddle to Nikon and Canon. The 600si and 650si came out in the mid-90s when Nikon and Canon were ascendant. Second, you have the controls of the 600si and 650si. An electronic camera with manual controls. Odd, unless you grew up with manual cameras. But, unlike the F100 I used to have, you can pick this up and use it without taking a 3 credit college course.

BTW, more info on it here: https://tammesphotography.weebly.com/minolta-dynax-600si.html
