I’m helping a friend sell his late father’s photo equipment. His dad was an enthusiastic lifelong photographer and a great fan of Fred Picker and Zone VI, so those of you familiar with Fred will recognize some of the equipment he use to recommend in these listings. I’ll be listing the gear a little at a time as I’m able to examine, photograph, and describe it. PayPal (must have a verified address) payments will go directly to my friend, while I’ll be handling the logistics since the gear is at my house to make listing easier. This means shipments might be a day or two slower than you’d expect from me because I’ll have to get the shipping info for each transaction from my friend. Prices quoted include shipping to addresses in the continental US unless otherwise stated. International sales aren’t out of the question, so don’t be afraid to ask, but keep in mind that the shipping cost could be surprisingly high. Asking prices are largely set a little below average prices of completed eBay sales, plus listings on LFPF and Photrio. Please let me know if you think a price is way out of line.
This is a Micromega Grain Focuser. It appears identical to my Peak One other than the different branding. It has a robust and fairly heavy aluminum frame, much nicer than the currently-available plastic Peak Model 3. The ocular is clear and clean and focuses smoothly. There are cleaning marks on the delicate front-surface mirror - these are purely cosmetic and won't affect your use of the focuser or your prints. Replacement mirrors are available from B&H for $25.95, but if it were me I wouldn't bother. Many people consider this grain focuser to be the best ever made, I certainly love mine! Asking $150 shipped in the US.
