For sale is a Metz 45 CT-3 flash
Includes 1 coiled PC sync cord, ugly condition SCA module for Nikon F3, standard bracket and standard AA battery insert. The flash is in good working condition, the SCA module suffers from "Metz cord disease", with the outer insulation flaking off, but is functional. The standard PC cord is in good shape, with no crumbling insulation.
These are GN 45 (Meters) (hence the name) flashes, and produce a lot of light in a reasonable size package. It is TTL compatible with any camera that has an associated SCA module available.
It also has a built-in meter for on-flash automatic operation. In manual mode there 1/4 and 1/2 power settings, along with a "winder" mode (marked "W" on the scale), which is a low-power mode for very fast recycling times to use with a motor drive.
This has been my back-up unit, and I'm not doing enough with a portable flash to just keep it on the shelf.
These produce enough light to be useful with an umbrella or a small soft-box and enough reach to illuminate subjects 15-20 feet away, or more in a good environment. It takes 5 standard AA's, note that Metz does not recommend the use of Ni-cad rechargeables in the standard battery insert, they make a ni-cad module which uses different terminals in the battery chamber. I don't know if there would be any issues in using modern rechargeable batteries in it.
Price is $30.00 USD, including shipping in U.S., I'll quote a pro-rated shipping price to any other destinations on request.
