OK, you don't see these come around often, but anyone looking for the big monster for their Mamiya 645 manual focus camera? Yes, the Mamiya-Sekor C 500/5.6 lens in all its glory, with original case and caps. It's got the tripod mount, a built in lens hood, and just in case you need some depth of field it goes to f/45. It's definitely been used - there is wear on the lens mount, and it looks like some previous owner rested it on something other than a tripod when shooting (a fence board perhaps?) and rubbed some paint off on the bottom. But the glass is clean and clear (and did I mention ginormous and heavy?!), and the aperture blades are oil free and snappy, and the focus is smooth. Small dent in the front lens cap.

See pics. Mamiya 645 included in last pic for size reference only - not included in sale of course! (My wife says the whole rig looks like a cartoon camera and expects to see a giant eyeball blinking at the front lens surface...)

I'd like to get $700 plus shipping. In the US let's call it $20 for UPS shipping; lots more internationally for Priority Mail but we'll figure it out if you want it.

That is one of those lenses that if I owned I would rent it out and have a hefty (pun) insurance on it.

Well that's easy - buy it and use it

Duncan

Yeah, I know...Just sayin' that I don't know if I would use it enough to justify actually owning it.

What have you shot with it?

Things from really far away that I wanted to appear much closer ;-)

The only scan I can lay my hands on really quickly is attached here. It was part of a series of pictures I was taking in the dawn hours, so it's like a 20 second exposure and I got a bit of wiggle on my tripod, which is why it's not as razor sharp as it ought to be. The camera is set up over 3 city blocks away from the building in the center.

BUMP - nobody interested in a monster lens for their 645? If you don't want one quite this big, I've also got a monster Russian-made 300mm lens for sale, I'll bump that one too.

A couple of sample pics I took - one at near infinity (across a pretty big lake) and one at its minimum focusing distance (on the near shore of the lake).

I'll bet the compression effect is awesome with it.
