For Sale FS: lot of 9 Leitz/Leica FILCA cassettes - Price Reduced

Lot of nine Leitz FILCA brass reloadable cassettes for Leica screwmount cameras. These are all the black button, Z mark version. All are complete with inner and outer shells and spool. They are free of dents, rotate smoothly, and none of the springs have been overextended. Some are cleaner and/or less tarnished than others, a couple have some minor corrosion (verdigris, if you want to get fancy), some will probably need the felt washer replaced, some have ancient masking tape on the spool. All should clean up and be made useable with a little TLC.

$70 for the lot includes shipping via USPS Priority Mail and I'll cover the PayPal fees. For another $15 (mostly to cover the jump from Small to Medium USPS Priority Mail box) I can include a Alden 74 daylight bulk loader that has the "key" to close these cassettes inside the loader; it's in unused condition but has some light rust on the metal parts from storage.

This sounds like a fine deal.

I loved using my Leica Cassettes, and when I had my IIIC, (they'll work in early, if no all, film M cameras too) and I liked that I could leave out the small cone shaped spring I used to push up modern film cassettes into proper position, when I closed the trap door.

The learning curve is no so high and most folks will appreciate the feel of the heavy brass, when compared to tin or plastic cassettes.

I'm not hugely versed in the variations, but I think the M2, M3, M4, and some M6 are the only ones that use cassettes in this style, and it needs to be the IXMOO version; these FILCAs are screwmount only.

I still have a IIIa and IIIc, maybe I should keep them and give them a try?

Leica made their newer versions of their metal cassettes backwards compatible, so, yeah, give it a go.
