For sale one Linhof Color 4x5 large format monorail camera with Toyo View Linhof style lens board and a vintage (1970s) Rodenstock Sironar 210mm f5.6 Copal 1 convertible lens. Legend has it that this lens will cover 8x10, but I don't know if that's true; I do know that it is convertible to 400mm (there are 2 f-stop scales on the shutter) and that it has a wide enough image circle to cover 5x7 with movements (58mm filter thread, not 67mm).
The Linhof Color is a very cool monorail, very portable, easy to disassemble and lightweight -- it weighs about 6, maybe 7 pounds with the lens in, and I've had it in a backpack before; plenty of movements for field work (geared front rise, tilt, swing; back swing and tilt), and the movements are easy to manage -- simple lever locks on the front and simple lock down knobs on the back, not unlike a Linhof Tech. Includes a rotating back and a built in bubble level. Also has a removeable back for Wista or Linhof rollfilm holders.
The ground glass on this one has a red rectangle, factory etched, for 6x7 or 6x9 (probably 6x7); the glass is immaculate, no marks, looks perfect.
Bellows are in excellent condition, as is the camera in general -- there are two small spots of paint loss, about 2mm wide, on the rear standard; otherwise gorgeous.
The lens has some internal dust but no scratches; it is in very good condition, especially given its age. Note that I haven't used it as a 400mm on this camera -- my understanding is that the Color has a max bellows draw of 360mm, although there is an extension rail available (I don't have one, though).
I'd like to get $600 plus shipping for this combo via PayPal; I'd rather not break these up, but I'm open to offers, if you have them. Please PM me if you have questions....thanks!
