Also listed on eBay, but I'm putting it up for cheaper here. Very rare 6x7 camera. The black body indicates it is a late production model; only 2200 of these cameras were ever made and the black ones were only made in the last few years of the production run. I am selling because I am saving up for a MF rangefinder that does not need to be babysat, like a Mamiya 6 or maybe a converted Medalist.

Here's everything I know about this camera.

- The shutter fires at all fast speeds, and all the speeds sound different and the fast speeds sound good. If you, like me, let the camera sit for about 8 weeks in an air conditioned room, the shutter may stick open at 1s and 1/2s. Warming it up to room temp, the 1s and 1/2s work again. And the fast speeds work fine all the time. But nevertheless, if you want the full speed range at all temperatures it will need a shutter service.

- The rangefinder is extremely bright and seems accurate

- The body and grip is in great shape with no cracks to report. Some scratches on the side of the film door

- Aperture and focus are smooth and easy

- The winder seems to work! This is the critically fragile part of these cameras, according to people on forums, and this camera seems to have a working film transit. It's a double stroke and it feels smooth and makes a "click" at the end of the second stroke as it should

- The round thing in the light meter moves. But I don't know if this is the match needle or the target to match the needle to. I would doubt the accuracy of the meter, anyways.

- The lens has a "shadow" in it. I can't quite tell what it is, perhaps separation? Definitely not fungus or haze, I know what those look like. It is very hard to picture but I got it in the picture of the rear element if you look really closely. I doubt it has a significant effect on image quality but it should be mentioned.

- I tried running a test roll through the camera, but after the 12th shot, while I was winding forward to wrap up the roll, the little label you lick to close the roll of film got stuck in the advance mechanism. This was using Ilford Delta 3200. I didn't force it, but I did take a look inside and saw what had happened. I'm not sure if this is a particular issue with modern Ilford films and a finicky film transit, or if it would affect other films too. At the very worst case scenario, you can just change the films in a dark bag, or consult with a service expert on these to have it adjusted. I think there are still people in Europe who service them? I will keep investigating this issue to see if it applies to to other film stocks and update this description if I find anything new. Also, because the roll got exposed when I opened the back, I don't know if the frame spacing is accurate.
