For sale, a 1946 Leica IIIc in sharkskin. Camera works well - I recently shot a roll through it. Rangefinder is contrasty, although the windows are a bit dirty. Sharkskin is in good condition. The body has two spots where the chrome has been abraded away down to the brass - someone must have had a name/ssn engraved into it.

The Summicron is a good user lens although it has a couple of issues. First, it has an engraving in the mount as shown in the photos. Second, there's some scuffing and scratching in the front. It's ugly when you look through it at a light source but I'm not sure how much it really affects anything. The photos do a pretty good job showing the state of the lens. I've shot extensively with this lens in both color and B&W (sample images can be found here (look at the image titles)).

$225 for the camera
$250 for the lens

Thanks,
Dan

Gotta laugh at engraving license number on the bottom plate, which is trivially swapped.

That should be a great user Summicron, just a slight loss of contrast, and need for a lens hood.

Good luck with sale.

I owned a Summicron just like yours in similar condition. It was hands down one of the best lenses I've ever owned. Put a yellow filter on it to bump the contrast a bit, add a good hood, and someone is going to be very, very happy. The camera looks like a little jewel too.

Thanks all for the comments on the Cron. It is a gem - grabbed it today when I went to a NYC coastal fort I've seen from afar but never visited. I have a Summitar (which I keep for sentimental reasons), and a very clean, just CLAd rigid Cron or I wouldnt be selling this one.

The III is a good user but Ive gone to an M3 becuse at my age the squnty rangefinder is not as easy to use as it was 30 years ago.

Leica IIIc for $175. I hate to have it sitting in a drawer going unused. It's too nice a camera for that.
