My first real camera was a used SP500, same basic camera, except with stop down metering. I know mine came with an f2 standard lens, can't remember the focal length. One of my all time favorite cameras. I found a nice example a few years back, nice to have. I think I paid $135.00 in 1970 for my original. I remember my Dad going along to make sure it was ok.The H1a with the 55mm f/2 was my first SLR, and provided the exposed film with which I began darkroom work. I bought it new on layaway when I was in high school, and as I recall it was something like $150 in early 1970s dollars. I still remember the name of the camera store and the salesman I dealt with. I really loved that camera!
Yes! I had to stop. It started with an SP500 on this forum for $25, then I found the lenses I had kept from the ‘70’s from my first Spotmatic- then another Spottie in black popped up for a song and I got that- then some more lenses… must stop!!!If I weren't literally drowning in a sea of cameras, I'd go for it...
