I have a very nice, later model, Helios 44-2 58mm f2 lens. The cosmetics are excellent, and the glass is very clean and clear w/ great coatings. The focus is Leica-like smooth. Very unusual for a FSU lens. It's the smoothest focus I have ever seen on any FSU lens, so I suspect that someone gave it a good CLA recently. There is a little bit of wobble on the rear mount (probably from cleaning out all the gray grease these are usually packed with), but it has no effect on anything. Filter thread size is 49mm.

This is an easy lens to adapt to other cameras because it doesn't have the stop down pin like the earlier models. It's a preset lens. You set the aperture that you wish to shoot at on the ring closest to the front of the lens, focus wide open, then stop it down using the rear ring (which stops at your preset setting). It took me a while to figure this out, and I thought there was something wrong w/ it until I realized there were TWO rings for the aperture control. I have an earlier model Helios, and this one is much sharper and has considerably more contrast. I also have a Zenit E camera that it came on, and can make a deal if someone wants them both.
